The department of pediatrics and the microbial host and pathogenesis program is seeking a medical student interested in joining the lab. The lab studies mechanisms of placental infection using the bacterial model pathogen Listeria monocytogenes and primary human placental organ and cell cultures as well as a pregnant guinea pig model of listeriosis.

The Rewards: Support from PI, graduate student, a post-doc and other members of the research team which would also profit from some help from a motivated medical student. You will gain experience in clinical research and exposure to pediatrics.
