Institute for the Future
Medical Student Summer Research Program

The Institute for the Future in Menlo Park is a non-profit research and consulting organization whose principal activity is long-range forecasting. Health care, one of the Institute's four areas of interest, focuses on health care finance, health care organization and delivery, emerging information and medical technologies, socioeconomic forces that affect health and health care, public sector programs related to health, and health care workforce.

In the coming year, the health care team will be conducting research on public health (or health of the public), health and health care of the elderly, emerging information and medical technologies and the future of hospitals.

Each student will select a area of research and a member of the IFTF staff who can sponsor the student's work. A stipend of $2,400 will be provided for the summer term.
