Hosting
The School of Medicine Information Services Unit (ISU) provides top quality, comprehensive information technology solutions and services to the UCSF School of Medicine in support of the School's administrative, academic, clinical, and research missions. We offer advanced and complex Web hosting, data center server co-location, dedicated server hosting, and managed eBusiness and IT services. We offer a high level of expertise with network and server hardware, Unix and Windows operating systems, Web, email, database, file and print, eBusiness applications and enterprise Active Directory (AD) services. There are several hosting options to departments and units within the School of Medicine. File/Print ISU has provided shared file storage to the departments for over 12 years. The current file system resides on a storage area network (SAN) with an integrated backup solution. The system currently surpasses stringent HIPAA regulations, available via protected "P" drives.Managed Server Our experienced administrators bring 42 years of expertise to your server hosting requirements. Each holds a current MCSE certification which includes Exchange. The data center is supported by an emergency power source supplied by a diesel generator backed by an enterprise level uninterrupted power supply (UPS). Cooling is provided by a dedicated HVAC cooling system while fire protection is supplied via a state-of-the art FM200 fire suppression system. Database and Software Application ISU offers database and application hosting for School of Medicine units and departments. You may have an existing application or database that is currently hosted by an outside vendor and would like to have it hosted at the School. ISU can host Microsoft and other third party based applications and databases. Contact ISU to see if this service is right for you. ISU offers free Web hosting for the Dean's Office. Departments can also host their websites on a shared Web server for a small monthly recharge. The following Web hosting services are available.
