The Blumberg Loan is an interest free loan program that current School of Medicine Housestaff and Clinical Fellows are eligible to take part in. Qualified applicants may request up to twelve hundred dollars ($1,200) through this short-term loan program.
Repayment must be made on a monthly basis with a baseline amount of one hundred dollars ($100). Repayment may also occur with higher specified amounts. To facilitate the repayment process, a payroll deduction is required for applicants receiving salary from the UC Payroll System.
Blumberg Loan participants may opt for a repayment schedule with a maximum duration of up to twelve months. Additionally, Housestaff and Clinical Fellows may re-apply for additional Blumberg Loans once their current loan balance has been paid in full.
