GME Evaluation Task Force Recommendation
July 1, 2008PROGRESS REPORT FOR SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING
The ACGME requires a semi-annual performance review meeting to discuss each resident’s progress toward goals and objectives for the year. As programs implement more resident evaluations, it will be essential to summarize the data on key outcomes and compare performance to the resident’s goals or benchmarks. The Task Force recommends a progress report following the template illustrated below. The progress report should be prepared in advance of the semi-annual meeting, ideally by having evaluation data electronically populate the Performance Measures for each resident. Residents would review the report and come prepared to discuss their progress with the program director or designee. If a portfolio-based system is used the resident would also provide evidence of learning they selected for showcasing.
Progress report form adapted from Knight DA, Vannatta PM, O’Sullivan PS. A Process to Meet the Challenge of Program Evaluation and Program Improvement. ACGME Bulletin 2006 (Sept): 5-8.
