Expectations of Members in the Academy

    Members of The Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators actively participate in the Academy's work to promote educational excellence in the UCSF community.

    Academy members serve as mentors to School of Medicine faculty, Teaching Scholars, residents and other teachers interested in developing as teachers. Upon request, they also assist courses, clerkships and departments in strengthening their teaching (see TIP-TOP). Academy members promote and support interdisciplinary and interdepartmental approaches to medical education and collaborate with colleagues in academic departments and the Office of Medical Education to develop, implement and evaluate improvements in the curriculum.

    In addition to their participation in these activities, members are expected to be productive citizens of the Academy and fulfill minimum service expectations. Please click below for more information:
