The Keynote Address Speaker:
Jennifer Kogan, MD
Associate Professor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania

Professionally Developing and Sustaining Medical Educators to Effectively Prepare the Next Generation of Physicians

Dr. Kogan's medical education research focuses on formative and summative competency assessment. Her research and publications have focused on developing, implementing and evaluating tools that can be used to enhance the feedback and assessment trainees receive about their clinical skills. She has published in JAMA, Academic Medicine, Medical Education, Teaching and Learning in Medicine, and the Journal of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Kogan, in collaboration with the American Board of Internal Medicine, is currently developing and studying the effectiveness of new approaches for providing faculty development in clinical skills assessment of trainees. She also does research evaluating the impact of duty hour regulations on medical student education and factors impacting medical student career choice.
